Turtles in the pond
It's been a while since we've seen any animals, so here are some cute turtles swimming in the pond in League Park. The pond there is fenced in, so these guys are permanent residents. I love how their little noses stick out of the water.

Lantern
This is an old one that I did for my Fundamentals of Photography class. Some might recognized it because I linked the digital version of it on an earlier post... this is the film version. Anyway, the lantern is found hanging outside the front door of the Old Fig Factory in Old League City.
FYI, this was shot on T-Max 400 on a Pentax ME Super. All the white spots are the fault of my scanner... I spot toned what was the original print and there weren't many of those. I've got dust on the inside part of my scanner's glass... I photoshopped the most noticible stuff. Stupid scanner.

I think we need another book sale...
The Helen Hall Library has a book sale a couple of times a year... and this is what is piled up in storage so far. Unfortunately, the poor room will have to hold out until the first weekend in May. Good luck room!

Fence
I'm even busier than I thought I would be with school, and it was only the second day today. Besides that, it's been too miserable to get out and take photos the past couple of days. So, here's another photo of that baseball field I posted a bit ago. Sorry it's not very good. Rain or shine, I'll go on another photo-taking mission this weekend!

Brash'n'Sassy
The center of League City is Main Street, along which can be found lots of cute little shops. Unfortunately, it looks like this particular shop has closed, judging by the "For Rent" sign in the window.
Tomorrow's back to school for Li and I. We'll work hard to make sure we still get to take lots of pictures for you all, though!

Carnage!
I've mentioned this photo to many people, but I've never shown it to anyone, so here it is. Eli, one of Maggie's dolls, spent the night and I played with some of my toys... the result was that only the Star Wars toys were left standing, and Eli looked rather worried.
And if ya'll are wondering, this post is not, in fact, backdated! I really did get this right at 11:59. XD

History
Texas loves its history, and the Texas Historical Commission has historic markers all over the state. I believe there are at least three in League City. This is the one in League Park, explaining a bit of the history of the city and the park itself. If you click on the image you should be able to read it!

Baseball
Near League City Elementary School are League City's old Little League fields. They're still used occasionally, but more recently a larger complex of fields based on famous major league stadiums was built elsewhere. I remember when my brothers used to play Little League, so I prefer these old fields myself.

Bridge on the playground
Another shot at League Park! The main play area is pretty big; there're all kinds of things kids can wear themselves out on. Here you can see one of the slides, the bridge, and the strange, circular monkey bars. There used to be a completely different one when I was little, but I don't really remember it that well... I want to say it was wood and metal, though.

Old West
Beside League Park, someone built a shopping center made to look like an old Western town, complete with false fronts and a psuedo-wooden sidewalk (it's really concrete with board lines etched into it, and painted brown). Unfortunately, it doesn't seem to be doing very well. Some of the shops are still empty.
